Recently I was connected with the @juniorleagueoftampa, to learn more about their advocacy efforts and to help them illuminate the very real, nearly invisible epidemic of Human Trafficking.
Human trafficking is modern-day slavery. Thousands of young people are being exploited and sold in the United States, with the Tampa Bay area being among the largest hubs in the country. These people are not criminals, they are victims.
As an artist, I feel a responsibility to recognize, and help interpret voices that are often unheard. To highlight the hope in an otherwise dark or disparaging situation. I created this mural as a reminder for all that see it – that you are worth much more than your circumstances. You are PRICELESS.
